Biography Rebecca has been singing for as long as she can remember, probably before she could talk. She learned early on that she had a powerful voice and was in every school play and chorus available to her. As she grew and progressed through her school system, she accomplished several achievements and awards. She was adjudicated and passed with scores well above the required limit for All-State Choruses and Regionals. In these years she had several solo performances, one of the most memorable was performing “Out Here On My Own” from the movie musical “Fame” at the Statue of Liberty. It's at this time that Rebecca became the Cantor of many churches in the Waterbury, CT region. Most notably, she was the soloist for St. John the Evangelist in Watertown, CT and The Immaculate Conception Church (now the Immaculate Conception Basilica) in Waterbury, CT. It is with both of these churches that she was able to travel abroad to Italy to perform in a couple of great acoustical spaces such as St Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican and the church of St. Ignacious in Rome. The choir was also granted a special privilege of a private audience with Pope John Paul II. It has been noted that once Rebecca started with the Spiritual they were performing for him, he immediately perked up and started to pay attention. She then took a few years off for family but never forgetting her passion and love for music. She lived in NY for a few years but moved back to her home state of Connecticut in 2004. It is then that she became actively involved in singing with The Shrine of Saint Anne in Waterbury, CT and other local organizations. She has performed in Madame Butterfly and with Liam Lawton at the Palace Theater and has been a featured soloist with the Waterbury Chorale. All of these being classical performances, but classical music is not her only passion. Rebecca has a love for all styles of music especially the sounds from the 1980’s. She most recently has teamed up with Michael Mackinnon, a songwriter from Birmingham, England, and they have truly embarked on a musical adventure. They are bringing to life their musical creations under the name AeaeA. Rebecca currently resides in Naugatuck, CT with her husband and daughter. She currently is the President of an International moving company for the Connecticut division |
